ERIN LARSON has a passion for words and well-crafted writing. A self-proclaimed editorial perfectionist, she once canceled a credit card on the sole basis of a grammatically incorrect form letter (which she edited and promptly sent back to the company). She revels in the opportunity to help individual authors enhance their writing. She turned her passion into profit as editor, translator, and Managing Editor for a group of health care publications, editing peer-reviewed journals, bi-monthly magazines, and online journals. Since striking out on her own as an independent contractor, she has helped clients from New York to Tokyo with her eye for detail to rejuvenate tired text and create vibrant original copy. A recent Boston-based client called her work “fresh and quick... like a thorough Spring cleaning for text!” In addition to her work with LES, Larson is also a reporter/correspondent for a local weekly newspaper and is working on a series of children’s books.

SHARON MURPHY has been a newspaper reporter, magazine editor, and public relations writer. During an academic career of more than 40 years, she has been an academic dean, provost, and professor of journalism and mass communication, frequently serving as chair of thesis and dissertation committees. Her books, scholarly and professional articles, and popular writings have focused on a wide variety of topics, especially but not exclusively education, culture, and media. She is a reviewer for major book and journal, and she writes for both print and online outlets. A former Fulbright professor in Nigeria and Slovenia, she has also served on regional and specialized accrediting agencies and consulted with universities on organizational and curricular topics. Murphy works with writers to develop clear and convincing copy appropriate to the subject and the intended audiences. Like Mark Twain, she believes that “easy writing is often vile hard reading.”
